About the role
We're looking for a research scientist to help design and implement novel memory architectures for continuous learning systems. You'll work at the intersection of cognitive science and machine learning, building systems that can learn, remember, and reason over extended time horizons.
What you'll do
- Design and implement hierarchical memory representations (working, episodic, semantic)
- Research and prototype surprise-gated memory consolidation mechanisms
- Develop memory-augmented reasoning systems that improve with use
- Publish research and contribute to the broader scientific community
- Collaborate with engineering to bring research ideas into production
Requirements
- PhD in ML, cognitive science, neuroscience, or related field
- Strong publication record in memory systems, continual learning, or related areas
- Proficiency in Python and modern ML frameworks (PyTorch preferred)
- Experience implementing novel architectures from scratch
- Strong mathematical foundations in probability and optimization
Nice to have
- Experience with recurrent models and state-space models
- Background in computational neuroscience
- Familiarity with agent architectures and tool use
